PURCHASE POLICIES
How do I get “hard to find”, “allocated”, or “rare” whiskies and when are shipment days?
Our shipments are currently every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. We currently DO NOT stock “allocated” brands on delivery days. Allocated items are out on random days & times. If they are behind our counter where the minis are located, then you can choose ONE allocated bottle. If they are on the shelves with the rest of the whiskeys, you can choose one of each product. We will NOT hold allocated/limited bottles if you call and ask us to. We also do random “drops” and an annual lottery. We will give plenty of sign-up time (usually more than two weeks) for the lottery and will announce sign up times on this webpage and on our social media accounts. Our mixed beverage (bars/restaurants) customers are allowed to order allocated/limited products as well (there is a limit). They are a business that rely on us for their bottles if they are located within Franklinton. We always have allocated/limited bottles left, after filling their orders, to place on shelves for our non-mixed beverage customers. Currently, the ABC Commission bases allocations on store sales and not how many mixed beverage accounts a store is supplying. Allocated products are a guaranteed sale (98% of the time), more allocated equals more sales. Some allocated products we are not allowed to order and others we are only allowed a smaller amount than a store with a larger population and higher sales volume. This makes it more difficult to meet the demands of both our mixed beverage and non-mixed beverage customers, as far as allocated items go, and we may change how we handle those products in the future.
We have a large variety of spirits for all of our customers to choose from and we hope potential customers will visit us for more than just allocated products.
Persons under the age of 21 in our store.
It is the policy of the Franklinton ABC Board to prohibit anyone 18, 19, or 20 years of age from entering our stores. Children under the age of 18 may enter our store, as long as they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
We have the right to refuse sale.
We cannot knowingly sell to someone who is purchasing for an underage individual, or for someone who has already been refused sale. It is unlawful for any person to knowingly buy alcoholic beverages for someone who has been refused the right to purchase.
It is unlawful for an ABC store employee to knowingly sell or give alcoholic beverages to any person who is intoxicated. Any person authorized to sell alcoholic beverages may refuse to sell to anyone.
Acceptable Forms of ID
It is the responsibility of the customer to prove that they are at least 21 years of age. We will refuse sale if you cannot provide valid ID upon request. The forms of ID acceptable in ABC Stores include:
A valid driver’s license
A valid North Carolina State issued ID card or a valid out-of-state ID
A valid passport
A valid U.S. Military ID
Group ID Policy
It is the policy of the Franklinton ABC Board to immediately check the ID of any young person, as soon as they enter our store. An entire group of people can be refused if any member of the group is underage or unable to produce an acceptable form of ID.
